About Malaysian Society For Lactic Acid Bacteria (MSLAB)

The Malaysian Society for Lactic Acid Bacteria (MSLAB) originated from the Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) research group of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The research group was entrusted to organise the International Symposium of LAB in 2010 under the auspices of the Asian Federation of Societies for Lactic Acid Bacteria (AFSLAB). In 2014, the research group decided to officially register as a society with the Registrar of Societies, Malaysia. Today, MSLAB is a member of AFSLAB which has country members from China, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Mongolia, Philippines, Singapore,  South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

MSLAB

Mission

MSLAB is a non-profit organisation. The mission of MSLAB is to encourage research advancement, communication and education related to LAB sciences in Malaysia. This is to promote knowledge acquisition, development, and utilisation to improve human well-being, environment and economics. 

Code of Ethics

The Code of Ethics for MSLAB is defined by the society's mission, which is to promote the utilisation and advancement of LAB research and knowledge to support the overall human well-being and environment. While these goals are in place to enrich and empower the community, the Society demands its members to remain honest and truthful in all activities supported by the Society.
